Sssshhhhhh!!!! Don't Wake The Wind Fish!!!!

Good morning!

Apologies that I didn't get around to posting my next pattern sooner.

Things have been a tad hectic over the last month because I've just gone full time at work (huzzah)!  Only downside is that I'm knackered all the time (boo) and I'm not always in the mood for crafting :(

Anyway, I'm on annual leave now for two weeks (double huzzah), as I'm going away for five nights on Wednesday.  Those who know me over on  Facebook will know why and the rest of you... well, I should be able to fill you in tomorrow :) x

For now, here's that new pattern I promised:

The Wind Fish from Link's Awakening should need no introductions!

The pattern is a bit of a beast as it spans two pages -- it took me AGES to chart, but should be meaty enough for those of you who like a stitchy challenge!  I have plans for a blackwork version too, but that might be a way off yet!

So if you fancy a challenge, I've uploaded the pattern to the "Legend of Zelda" folder on BOX.net

Enjoy!

Till next time ... keep Kalm and cross-stitch! :) xxx

++NEW PATTERNS++ Essences of the Oracles

Hello again!

Well I had hoped to post some patterns yesterday, but I've been busy cat-sitting this week and I forgot all about it.  To make up for it, I'm posting two lots of patterns together.

I'm staying with the Legend of Zelda, but moving onto the Game Boy Color games; Oracle of Seasons/Ages.  I have charted patterns from these games before, but that was a while ago, and I thought it was time to revisit these games.

From the Oracle of Seasons, we have the "Essences of Seasons":

From the Oracle of Ages, we have the "Essences of Time":

The patterns have been uploaded to the usual place.

I have more stuff ready to chart, but at the moment I don't know when this will be due to my on-going health issues.  Hopefully, I can shed some light on that over the weekend.

In the meantime, thanks for your loyalty!

Until next time ... keep Kalm and cross-stitch! :) xxx

I'VE BEEN AWAY FOR A WHILE .... So Here's a New Pattern to Make Up for It!!!!

Hi guys, hope you are all well!

Can't believe it's been over two months since I last posted on here.  I know that other blogs I follow have been dormant for over a year, but that's no excuse for me to do the same, and I like to keep you in the loop as to what new projects I'm working on!

I've been having some health issues over the last six months, which I hope to say more about shortly, but for now, it's time for some of those new patterns I've been promising.

Staying with the Wind Fish theme from my last posts, we have this:

Those who have actually completed Links Awaking and got into the Wind Fish's Egg, will recognise this floor tile from the room where the final battle takes place.

I think this one will be a bit of a crazy stitch for anyone who wants to give it a go!

If you do, I have uploaded the pattern to the Legend of Zelda folder on BOX.net.

As always, I am not satisfied with just as cross-stitch version ... I have been working on a blackwork version too!  Here is my work in progress:

I wasn't sure how this one would turn out, but it's going okay so far.  Hopefully, I shall have this one finished soon :)

So that's all for now.

Till next time ... keep Kalm and cross-stitch! xx

++NEW PATTERNS++ Sssshhhh... Don't Wake the Wind Fish!

Greetings Guys!!!

Well it seems like it's been a very long time since I actually posted proper patterns!  I've been in a bit of a slump with regards to charting new patterns for a while and, as always, life gets in the way.

Anyway, over the last month or so, I seem to have found my feet again.  After trawling through all my reference images deciding what I could chart next, I came across some Zelda stuff that I hadn't even looked at when I had my Zelda Pattern Month back in June 2011!

As the title of this post suggests, the topic for today is the Wind Fish from Link's Awakening.  After Link to the Past, this is my favourite Zelda game :)

There are two offerings here:

Mini Wind Fish

Wind Fish Silhouette
Here are my stitchy versions:

These two patterns are really quick to work and should take no more than a couple of evenings (depending on how fast you stitch).  I would have preferred a darker blue for the silhouette version, but I didn't have any, so I used some marble-blue aida which actually gives a nice "sky" effect.

The patterns have been uploaded to BOX.net in the "Legend of Zelda" folder.

As always, if you stitch my work, please let me see so I cane give you a heads up :) xx

So that's all for today.  I have some more Zelda patterns waiting to be shared, so hopefully I will post them soon.

Till next time ... keep Kalm and Cross-stitch! xx

A Little Bit More Zelda

I know Zelda month is officially over, but I wanted to post one more completed stitching:

I just posted this on my deviantART page today, and the individual patterns can be downloaded from my website, here!

I've been a bit slow with July's theme, which is Pokemon.  I've got some patterns and ideas I've been working on this week, which (as long as the ink in my printer holds), I'll be able to start stitching over the weekend -- hopefully I'll have more to update you with on this next week.

Also, I have another large project I shall be starting next week -- it's Pokmon based, but it'll have it's own WIP so you can see how the project is coming together!

Well that's all for today, I'm off to chart up some more AR Markers and sort out my threads for my weekend stitchings!

Till next time ... keep Kalm and Cross-stitch! xxx

Zelda Month Is Coming To An End ... But Not Before One Last Pattern!!!

Yes folks, it's the last day of Zelda Month *BOO*

I've enjoyed solely stitching Zelda patterns and I'm suprised that I haven't wanted to sway from my task and stitch non-Zelda related stuff ... BUT there's still a day left and I still have a few more treats to share!  First, here are today's stitchings that I've posted up on deviantART this morning:

And now for the final Zelda pattern of the Month.  Another pattern featuring enemies from Link's Awakening ... this time those little walking cactus thingies:

Pattern Info:

Stitch Count: 79(w) x 16(h)

Key:

Cross-stitch in two strands of Anchor Thread (DMC Thread numbers are in parentheses):

0: 227 (701)
1: 361 (738)
Square: 403 (310)

So now we say "Sayonara" to Zelda Month.  I have few more pieces that I'm working on that I hope to have finished by the end of the weekend so that the next projects can commence on Monday.  Any pieces that are not completed by then will be showcased in a work in progress feature (I don't expect there to be many).

Well I hope you've all enjoyed Zelda Months and the patterns I've shared.  ALL the patterns I have featured this month (as well as some that I have not), will be up on my website tomorrow (all being well).  I shall keep you guys posted!

Till next time ... Keep Kalm and Cross-stitch! xx

Yet More Zelda Goodies!!!

Greetings mon amies!  It's time for some more Zelda related goodies!!

I'll try to keep today's post shorter - first, two more completed works that I have just posted on deviantART.  Today's stitching features the Zora's from Link to the Past.  I had been planning to do these for sometime, but only got round to charting them last week.  I did a total of three patterns, although I only stitched the first two -- all three will be on the website though by the end of the week!

I really enjoyed stitching these (I love the colours) and they were very fast to stitch too.  The only gripe I have is with the fabric which I would have preferred to have been a bit darker.  As mentioned, these are now up in my deviantART gallery, if you want to see them over there!

And so on to today's pattern.  I shall be sticking to the Link's Awkening theme for the rest of the week.  Today's pattern features more enemies, this time - Bombs!  These patterns should be quite quick to stitch, despite the large amounts of black thread:

Pattern Info:

Stitch count: 85(w) x 16(h)

Key:

Cross stitch in two strands of Anchor thread (DMC thread numbers are in parentheses):

0: 2 (White)
1: 335 (606)
Square: 403 (310)

So that's me done for today.  Tomorrow, I shall post the last pattern of the month :(

Till then ... Keep Kalm and Cross-stitch! xxx

Another Zelda Related Post ... With More Patterns *YAY*

Greetings fans, I hope your Tuesday is going well.

I must apologise that I didn't post yesterday as planned.  My finace has just bought a new wireless router for our internet and he's been messing about with the settings and our printer/scanner is not talking to my laptop so I haven't been able to scan in my new designs!!! :(

Hopefully this will be rectified tonight so I can scan them in tomorrow!!!

First things first, lets talk about Ocarina of Time 3DS.  I got my game, several days late, and it's pretty neat, although I've not done much on it yet.  Here are some cool piccies of the latest addition to my 3DS collection:

The booklet that comes with it is unusual in that it folds out like a double-sided poster, which is pretty cool and a nice thought on Nintendo's part.  Also, for European members of Club Nintendo, if you register your copy before June 30th you get a Soundtrack CD for free!!!!

One of the better Club Nintendo incentives!

So Zelda month is drawing to a close, and I am stitching fervently to get all my outstanding projects finished -- not easy because I don't always want to stitch somedays, but what I don't complete, I shall post on here as a WIP!  I've finished seven projects which I will be posting up on my deviantART page over the coming days -- here are today's offerings:

Dungeon Items (Link's Awakening)

Hero Equiment (Link's Awakening)

I will post two more completed stitchings tomorrow.

And so finally, we come to today's pattern!  Today's pattern features enemies from Link's Awakening -- charted very quickly one afternoon last week when I was bored and wanted something to do!  I've referred to them as "Enemies Set No1" becuase I'm not actually sure what these are supposed to be!

I have no clue what these are!!!

Pattern Info:

Stitch count: 76(w) x 16(h)

Key:

Cross-stit h in two strands of Anchor thread (DMC thread numbers are in parentheses):

0: 2 (White)
1: 227 (701)
2: 303 (742)
3: 335 (606)
4:1089 (3843)
Square: 403 (310)

Well I'm all Zelda'd out now for today!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for some more Hylian treats!

Till next time ... Keep Kalm and Cross-stitch!!! xx

Zelda Pattern Week - Day 5

Well, we've reached the end of the week, and here is the final pattern ... for now!!!

Link's final animal friend is Dimitri!

Dimitri reminds me of a baby Triceratops, but whatever he is, he's fast and strong and Link can ride on his back!

Pattern Info:

Stitch count: 31(w) x 25(h)

Key:

Cross stitch in two strands of Anchor thread (DMC thread numbers are in parentheses):

0: 227 (701)
1: 335 (606)
2: 361 (738)
Square: 403 (310)

So that's me done for the week!  I really hope you've enjoyed these patterns!!!

I've charted some other patterns which I plan to post on here, but I have a hetic few days coming up, and then it's my dad's funeral on Tuesday so it probably won't be until the back end of next week.  If I don't get chance to post them, fear not because they will be up on the website by the end of the month!!!

Have a great weekend folks!

Till next time ... Keep Kalm and Cross-stitch! xx

Zelda Pattern Week - Day 4

Here we go with day four of Zelda Pattern Week.

Today's pattern features another one of Link's animal friends -- Ricky.

Ricky, is a boxing kangeroo, and he has a very useful pouch in which to help carry our Hylian hero over vast distances quickly!

Pattern Info:

Stitch count: 24(w) x 32(h)

Key:

Cross stitch in two strands of Anchor thread (DMC thread numbers in parentheses):

0: 227 (701)
1: 324 (721)
2: 361 (738)
Square: 403 (310)

Tomorrow, is the last day of Zelda Pattern Week, but until then ... Keep Kalm and cross-stitch xxx

Zelda Pattern Week - Day 3

Well, we've reached the half-way stage (boo), but good news, I still have three more patterns to come (huzzah).  Not only that but "Play.com" emailed me today to say my game has shipped, so all being well I will be playing Ocarina of Time 3D by Friday (double huzzah!)

So lets get down to the business of patterns.

We're staying on the Oracles theme all week, purely because these games don't seem to get as much coverage as some of Link's other adventures.  The sprites are pretty much the same as Link's Awakening sprites, which is why these were so much fun to do!

Today's chart features the first of Link's animal friends -- Moosh!

I'm not sure what sort of creature Moosh is suposed to be.  He reminds me of a cross between a Snorlax and a Moogle (but without the deely boppers!)  Whatever he is, he can fly ... and this is very useful for a Hylian hero!

Pattern Info:

Stitch Count: 32(w) x 41(h)

Key:

Cross stitch in two strands of Anchor thread (DMC numbers in parentheses):

0: 2 (white)
1: 227 (701)
2: 295 (726)
3: 335 (606)
4: 361 (738)
5: 433 (996)
Square: 403 (310)

Well that's me done for another day.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for some more Zelda goodies!!

Till next time ... Keep Kalm and Cross-stitch! xx

Zelda Pattern Week - Day 2

Time for another pattern, this time it's "Nayru" from Oracle of Ages:

Pattern Info:

Stitch Count: 101(w) x 24(h)

Key:

Cross stitch in two strands of Anchor thread (DMC numbers in parenthesis):

0: 131 (798)
1: 335 (606)
2: 361 (738)
Square: 403 (310)

Back stitch is done in two strands of DMC Colour Variations shade #4025

Look out for more Zelda goodies tomorrow!!!

***

Finally for today, I want to talk about Facebook.  One of my friends and fellow bloggers, Missy-tannrnbaum of Dork Stitch fame, started a Facebook page to support her blog a few days ago. It's pretty neat and if you're on Facebook, be sure to "Like" it!!!

Here's the link: Dorkstitch on Facebook

If that wasn't enough, I also have a Facebook page:
Gatchastitch: Video-game inspired Cross-stitch

I had planned to start one a while ago but Facebook kept changing the layout and I wasn't happy with it so I left it.  As my website runs out of storage, I need a new home for the gallery and Facebook seems to be the place to move it to, and here it is: Gatchastitch Public Gallery

I'm going to be doing maintenance on the website at the end of the month when I upload new patterns and I'll be tweaking the gallery page (maybe even removing it altogether -- I dunno yet).

Well that's all for today, now I'm off to download today's quota of Pokemon and make some more AR cards!!!

Till Tomoz ... Keep Kalm and Cross-stitch!!! xx

June is Officially Zelda Month!!!

Okay, so I should have started this earlier, but it's been a tough couple of weeks.

For those Zelda fans out there, we're all eagerly anticipating the release of Ocarina of Time for the 3DS which is out on Friday of this week!  I have mine pre-ordered and hopefully it will come on time.  Also, as I mentioned the other day, the eShop launched last Tuesday and by Thursday, I was able to download another great Zelda classic - Link's Awakening DX!!!

So that's why I'm dedicating this month to all things Zelda.  With the exception of those daft little AR Markers I did the other day, pretty much all the other patterns I'm stitching this month are Zelda based!

So far I have stitched three projects and I have another three that are half finished -- hopefully I'll have all my Zelda projects finished by the end of the month!

I've actually designed some new Zelda patterns over the last week, and in celebration of the 3DS release of the finest video game ever made, I shall be offering one pattern a day on here until Friday!!!  The patterns getting the cross-stitch treatment come from the Gameboy Color adventures "Oracle of Ages" and "Oracle of Seasons".

Today's pattern is "Din" from "Oracle of Seasons":

Pattern Info:

Stitch Count: 100(w) x 32(h)

Key:

Cross stitch in two strands of Anchor stranded cotton (DMC numbers are in parenthesis):

0: 160 (827)
1: 335 (606)
2: 361 (738)
Square: 403 (310)
3: 410 (996)

Back stitch in two strands of DMC Colour Variations shade #4200

***

All the patterns I feature this week, together with all my other Zelda projects will (I hope), be up on my website by the end of the month.

***

I hope you enjoy this pattern ... I shall have another one for you tomorrow, but for now -- Keep Kalm and cross-stitch xxx
