+SHOW 'n TELL+ SETH LOGO (in Blackwork)

One of my favourite TV shows (as long term followers may know), is Stargate SG-1.

Here in the UK, Freeview channel "Pick" recently started showing the show from the start, which is great for me because I don't have SKY TV, and so I never saw the last couple of series!

I've already charted the logo for "Sokar" in blackwork (https://gatchacaz.deviantart.com/art/Blackwork-Sokar-439769670), and I'm planning on stitching "Apophis" next (in the New Year).

You can find the cross-stitch pattern via blog - http://gatchastitch.blogspot.co.uk/

First Completed Projects of 2014

Tuesday greetings one and all.

Well, it's been a while since my last post, and again, apologies for the gaps between posts.  I have been trying to finish a lot of half-finished projects and so I can only apologise for the lack of new patterns.

Anyway, the first projects I finished last month are blackwork versions of two patterns I posted last year.  The first one is the Avengers Assemble logo:

It is stitched on vintage blue aida (14-hpi) using DMC color variations thread (shade 4240).  The "A" is worked in two strands and the border one strand to give a bit of depth.

The second project is the logo for the Goa'uld System Lord - Sokar (from Stargate SG-1):

This is worked on vintage cream aida (14-hpi) using DMC color variation thread (shade 4130).  The design also uses DMC light effects (shade 3852).

I haven't uploaded the patterns for these, but if there is a demand, I can do that!

Well that's all I have for today, hopefully I'll have a few more completed projects to share soon.

Until then ... keep Kalm and cross-stitch!!!

+NEW PATTERN + Stargate Blackwork -- Orion

Greetings guys, hope you're all having a great weekend!

Well I must apologise again for my inactivity.  As always, I hadn't planned to leave it this long, but I don't seem to have found time to sit down and update the blog.

Following on from other Stargate themed posts, I have now completed the blackwork design for Orion:

The pattern has also been uploaded to BOX.net and can be found in the 'blackwork' folder.

I have charted some other glyphs this way, but I don't plan to stitch them at the current time.  I realise that I have far too many other 'unfinished' projects vying for my attention and I am trying to get them finished before I start anything new.  As of course we all know too well, this is much easier said than done!

So that's all for now!

Till next time ... keep Kalm and cross stitch :) xxx

+NEW PATTERNS+ Stargate Glyphs No's 21-39 (plus a few revisions)

Greetings guys!!

Apologies for my lack of activity on here of late (thanks to my friend Laura who pointed that out to me last night).  I have been quite tardy over the last week or so and the job hunting is starting to get on my nerves.

I have, however, managed to finish charting the remaining Stargate Glyphs (which seems to have taken forever), and here they are:

L to R: 21 (Pisces); 22 (Andromeda); 23 (Triangulum); 24 (Aries)

L to R: 25 (Perseus); 26 (Ceteus); 28 (Auriga); 29 (Eridamus)

L to R: 31 (Canis Minor); 33 (Gemini); 34 (Hydra); 35 (Lynx)

L to R: 36 |(Cancer); 37 (Sextans); 38 (Leo); 39 (Leo Minor)

All  the patterns have been uploaded to the "Stargate" folder on BOX.net.  I have amended some of the earlier patterns and uploaded revised versions (these will have a little "v2" logo under them).  Most of the changes are cosmetic, with the exception of "01_Earth" where amendments have been made to the pattern itself.

I am going to continue converting some of these into blackwork, but effectively this project is now complete.

You will recall from my last post that I had been hoping to post the patterns for the Angry Bird "Pigs", and I can only apologise to those of you who are waiting for them that this has not been done yet.  I had wanted to get these Stargate Glyphs out of the way first, so now that that's done, I can perhaps crack on with them!

Apologies also to those of you waiting for new Pokemon Blackwork designs.  I can confirm that I have now completed Deoxys and Victreebell, but haven't charted anything new lately.  Again, I shall try to rectify that as soon as I can.

That's all that I have for now.  Hopefully, I won't keep you waiting too long for the next set of patterns!

Untill then ... keep Kalm and cross-stitch :) xxxx

+NEW PATTERNS+ Stargate Glyphs -- in Blackwork!!!

Howdy Guys!!!

Following on from my recent Stargate post, I have now finished "Sagittarius" in blackwork:

I've had some requests for the patterns for these and so I have drawn up PDF files and uploaded the patterns for "Earth" and "Sagittarius" to the 'blackwork' folder on BOX.net.

I am currently working on "Orion" and this will follow as soon as I have stitched it.

I don't plan to make blackwork patterns for all 39 glyphs, but if there is a particular glyph you would like see in blackwork, let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Finally, I have now set up a "Sonic the Hedgehog" folder in 'Gaming'.  The Sonic + Knuckles pattern I posted the other day has now been moved to there :)

I'm currently charting some other gaming related patterns and I hope to get these posted during the course of the week!

Till then ... keep Kalm and cross-stitch :) xxx

+New Patterns+ Stargate Glyphs No's 11 to 20

Howdy!

Well, I promised new patterns today and *gasps*, I'm actually able to deliver.  To be honest, the patterns lined up for today have been in the 'upload' folder on my flash pen for quite some time, it's just I've been too lazy to post!

Moving away from the rock 'n roll theme to something a bit more interstellar -- Stargate Glyphs.  Checking back through my posts, the last set were uploaded back in January, so for those of you who have been waiting for these - sorry.

I've got patterns for 8 glyphs, as follows:

L-R: 11 (Scutum); 13 (Aquila); 14 (microscopium); 16 (Piscis Austrinus)

L-R: 17 (Equuleus); 18 (Aquarius); 19 (Pegasus); 20 (Sculptor)

The patterns have been uploaded to BOX.net and you can find them in the 'Stargate' folder (in non-gaming).

There are still quite a lot of glyphs to chart and they are all in various stages of completion, but I will try and get these completed as soon as I can.

I have also been stitching some of the glyphs myself (giving them the blackwork treatment).  So far, I have finished the "Earth" glyph:

I am currently working on "Sagittarius":

I have also charted "Orion", and will start that when I have finished Sagittarius.

I don't tend on charting all the glyphs into blackwork, but if you guys like these and have requests for specific glyphs, then let me know and I could be persuaded to chart them.

I realise that I haven't posted any new Pokemon charts for a while, and I have to confess that stitching them has been slow lately.  Also, I don't have any new designs in the pipeline at the moment.  I have so many UFP's and projects waiting to be started that get in the way -- I think I need to have a sort out!!!

Anyway, I'm going to be making changes to the blog/patterns over the course of August, but I'll let you know more of that later.

In the meantime, I hope you like the new patterns, and as always...

Keep Kalm and cross-stitch!!!

Stitchy Update!

Happy Tuesday Guys!!

Well after Sunday's mega-post, I thought it was time to share the work in progress on some of my current stitchy projects!  As you all know, lately I've had the hooky bug, so I've been doing more crochet than stitching, but that doesn't mean I'm abandoning my favourite pastime -- sometimes it's nice to sit at the frame and chip away at my stitching.

First up, Deoxys....

I'm slowly building this one up. I've found a few errors in the chart and it'll probably need a complete re-work before I can post it!

No update for Victreebell, I may have mentioned last time that I was having a few issues with regards the colours I had picked for the leaves and the body.  The concern arises because I am using vintage-green aida which conflicts slightly with the colours I had chosen.  I have come up with alternatives and hopefully (if these look okay), I should be able to get this finished soon!!!

Turning away from Pokemon ... I have recently started charting some of my Stargate patterns to work in blackwork.  Here's what I've stitched so far:

Goa'uld System Lord - Sokar (worked in DMC color variation  #4130 and Light effects E3852)

Stargate Glyph - Earth (worked in DMC color Variation #4025)

If you guys like the idea of working these in blackwork as opposed to cross-stitch, let me know.  If enough interest is shown, I'll make the patterns available.

So that's all I have for now.  Hopefully, I'll have some new patterns for you soon!

Till next time .... keep Kalm and Cross-stitch

+NEW PATTERNS+ Stargate Glyphs 6, 8, 9 and 10

Hey there guys, are we having a great weekend?

Well, I've been to Runcorn today to have Sunday lunch at my fiance's sister's home as it was my mother-in-law's birthday today and she wanted to make her lunch.  It's nice to have a change from the Sunday norm.  Now I'm home, chilling out watching Dancing on Ice and snow is falling outside ... brrr, it's gonna be a cold one tonight!!!!

I'm not planning on going anywhere tonight, but before I settle down to chart some more new stuff...here are today's new patterns:

Stargate Glyphs No's 6 (Libra); 8 (Norma); 9 (Scorpius) and 10 (Corona Australis)

Patterns have been uploaded to BOX.net.

Before I go, I want to feature two new magazines that have been released in the UK this week:

First up is a new monthly offering "Simply Crochet".  Compared to knitting (and cross-stitch), there aren't that many magazines dedicated to crochet so I was very excited about this.  I'm really impressed with it too so I'll definitely be getting this every month.  If you live in the UK and you'd like to give crochet a go, you should give it a go!

Secondly, I don't know what other countries are like, but here in the UK we get a lot of weekly magazine collections.  Usually you can get them in the newsagents for the first few issues, and then you have to put in a magazine order.  I already subscribe to one (Art of Crochet), but a new magazine called "Knit and Stitch" has just been released.  I "umm'd" and "arr-d" about getting this, but as the first issue is only 99p I thought I'd give it a go.  It's not bad, so maybe I might stick with this one too.

So that's all for now, I'm off to chart some more glyphs (and maybe a few Pokemon too)!!!

Till next time ... keep Kalm and cross-stitch! xx

Here are today's patterns:

04 - Bootes

05 - Centaurus

Till next time ... keep Kalm and cross stitch!

+NEW PATTERNS+ Stargate Glyphs No's 2 and 3

As promised, here are today's patterns:

02 - Crater

03 - Virgo

There's something rather funky about these two glyphs as they look like they're dancing in the heavens!!!

Patterns have been uploaded to BOX.net.

I am still struggling with my evil cough, but hopefully glyphs no's 4 and 5 will follow tomorrow.

Till then ... keep Kalm and cross stitch!! xx

+PATTERNS+ Goa'uld System Lords - Part 2

Your patience for having no patterns for three days is rewarded with new patterns!

Here is the second part of the Goa'uld System Lord logos - Hathor, Cronus  Heru-er and Ares:

Hathor

Cronus

Heru-er

Ares

I realised after I had done these, that I had forgotten one other important Goa'uld ... Anubis!!!

Anubis

There are other 'minor' system lords and whether I decide to chart them has yet to be decided.  If you have a favourite that I've not mentioned, please let me know and I'll have a look at whether they can be charted!  Ideally, I'd like to crack on with the rest of the Stargate Glyphs though as there are still about 30 (eek) I have to do!!!

In fact, I have far too many patterns I want to do, and I really don't know when I'm going to find time to chart them all *sigh*

So that's the first lot of patterns for today...stay tuned, there's more!

+NEW PATTERNS+ Stargate Glyphs No1 "Calling Abydos!!!"

Happy weekend guys!!!

If you're wondering what to stitch this weekend, here are some new patterns for you.  I finally got round to making a start on the Stargate Glyphs.  The first 6 symbols make up the address for the planet Abydos:

Of course, to make it work you need Earth's point of origin ... and here it is:

The patterns have been uploaded to BOX.net under the Stargate SG-1 folder.

I want to finish the Goau'ld System Lord patterns before I chart any more glyphs, and you guys are probably itching for some more Pokemon, so I should probably get those stitched too.  It's really hard to find time to get all these done, especially as I am working more now, but I will do my best to get them finished soon!

In the meantime, I hope you like these new patterns...remember, if you stitch them, let me see piccies of the finished pieces!!!

Till next time...keep Kalm and cross-stitch! :) xxx

+PATTERNS+ Goa'uld System Lords Part 1

As promised yesterday, it's time for some Stargate patterns!

First up are the logos for Goa'uld System Lords - Ra, Apophis, Seth and Sokar:

Part 2 will feature Hathor, Heru-er, Cronos and Aeries (once I've charted them!)

I'm also charting the Stargate glyphs (all 39 of them), which should be a challenge!  The initial plan for me is to release the glyphs in batches, starting with the 6 that make up the address for "Abydos" (from the original film), plus the Earth's Point of Origin -- so far, I've only charted Orion and Sagittarius.

Actually, they aren't that difficult to chart, but as I mentioned in my last post, finding time to do them is proving awkward at the moment.

Anyway, the good news with these patterns is that I can post them as and when they've been charted (unlike the Pokemon), so hopefully you won't have to wait too long between posts.

Till next time ... Keep Kalm and cross-stitch! :) xx

A Plethora of SCI-FI Patterns

OMG, I just realised that it's been over a week since my last blog entry!!!  I have an excuse in that I have been working for two weeks solid, and I'd forgotten just how tiring a full day can be.  It's really curtailed my creativity of late.

To make up for it, I have some new patterns:

"Thumbs Up!" (Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy)

"Global Defence Logo" (Command & Conquer)

"Horde Logo" (World of Warcraft)

I know the last one is more of a re-post, but I lost the original pattern and had to remake it!

One of my favourite SCI-FI shows is Stargate SG-1, so I've done a chart for that too:

Recently, on deviantART, I have been chatting to a friend about Stargate and it's spin-off's after she had done a cross-stitch of the Earth "Point of Origin" Glyph. The pattern came from a knitting blog HERE. It's a pretty cool blog, especially for all the Stargate patterns and it would be so easy to take the patterns, convert them to cross-stitch and call them my own.

However, I don't approve of people "stealing" other people's ideas so I'm going to make my own, with good old fashioned graph paper, using reference images I found HERE and HERE. Depending on how they turn out, I may do blackwork versions too.

So that's all for today, cause I have things to be doing that I keep putting off!!!

Till next time ... keep Kalm and Cross Stitch!!!

Opps, I nearly forgot ...the new patterns have been uploaded to BOX.net via the "Logos" tab!!!
