+SHOW 'n TELL+ FFVII 20th ANNIVERSARY SAMPLER!

I charted this back in 2011, using the "logo" from the cover of the 10th Anniversary Ultimania representing Cloud, Zack and Sephiroth.

I didn't chart this at the time, but seeing as this year represents the 20th Anniversary of FFVII, I decided to resurrect it and "tweak it", to reflect this.

I used a lot of black and grey stitching this ... LOL!

So, that's it with the "Show 'n Tell" for today - sorry if you feel like I've ambushed your inboxes!

Till  next time ... keep Kalm and cross-stitch!

+SHOW 'n TELL+ SETH LOGO (in Blackwork)

One of my favourite TV shows (as long term followers may know), is Stargate SG-1.

Here in the UK, Freeview channel "Pick" recently started showing the show from the start, which is great for me because I don't have SKY TV, and so I never saw the last couple of series!

I've already charted the logo for "Sokar" in blackwork (https://gatchacaz.deviantart.com/art/Blackwork-Sokar-439769670), and I'm planning on stitching "Apophis" next (in the New Year).

You can find the cross-stitch pattern via blog - http://gatchastitch.blogspot.co.uk/

+SHOW 'n TELL+ CROCHET CRITTERS

Howdo Guys!

Well, the months are ticking down to Christmas and I can only apologise for my lack of posts this year.

It's been a real stinker and motivation has been somewhat lacking.

Whilst new patterns have been few and far between, I've still been crafting away.

Here are all some of my crochet critters I've completed recently:

"Stack-o-Saurus"

Baby Totoro

Mr Fish

"Mini Hardy"

These have all been uploaded to my deviantART page, where you can find the pattern links!

Don't go away guys, more "show 'n tell" coming right up!!!

+SHOW 'N TELL+ THUNDERBIRDS 50TH ANNIVERSARY!!!

Hey guys, I'm on a roll here - two posts in as many days!

May need to go and have a lie down after this :D

Just a quickie for today.  I have been showing the WIP's for this over on my Facebook page, but realised that I never uploaded the finished piece (although you can view it over on my DeviantArt page HERE.

One of my favourite programmes growing up was "Thunderbirds" and it's hard to believe that it recently celebrated it's 50th anniversary! (BTW, I'm not quite as old as that)!

In honour of this, I designed my own cross-stitch sampler based on the 50th Anniversary logo that was recently seen on social media and such, and here it is:

I had a lot of fun with this one.

I've stitched it on 28-hpi evenweave using DMC threads.

My love for all things Thunderbirds has been given a bit of a revival thanks to the remake - "Thunderbirds" Are Go.  I have charted a number of other Thunderbirds related patterns, but due to my current financial situation, it may be a while before they all get stitched, and I have no plans (at the moment) to release the charts.

So that's me done blogging for now!

I'm going back to my frame now to continue working on another anniversary sampler, which, I would like to finish before the end of this year!  Keep an eye on my Facebook page - there will be updates :)

Till  next time ... keep Kalm and cross stitch! :) xxx

+SHOW 'N TELL+ BLACKWORK - SLIPKNOT LOGO

Howdo guys, hope you is all well?

Long time followers will remember that after going to Download in 2015, I uploaded a whole heap of band-related patterns.

One of them was for Iowa's finest - Slipknot (see HERE).

Anyway, I've also been working on a blackwork version.  Those who follow me on Facebook will have seen some updates recently.  I've been picking at it on and off for the past year, and having spent pretty much most of March and April knitting Easter chicks for a local charity, I decided I needed a change!

I finally finished it last night, and here it is...

There's no pattern upload for this one at the moment, but if I get enough requests for it, I may reconsider.

Next project I want to finish is the blackwork version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Logo - I know I have a few followers who are Marvel fans, and my Avengers Logo has been requested quite a bit, so I will probably upload the pattern, once I have finished stitching it.

That's all the show 'n tell for now, but don't go away ... new patterns are on the way!!!

+SHOW 'N TELL+ BLACKWORK - LT. SURGE

Greetings guys, hope we're all enjoying our weekend!

Thought it was time to reveal my latest finished piece:

My long term followers will know that back in 2012 I was dabbling with charting the Pokemon Gym Leaders in blackwork.

I've already done Erika:
http://gatchacaz.deviantart.com/art/BLACKWORK-Gym-Leader-Erika-311940461

My plan was to try and chart as many of my favourite Gym Leaders (predominantly from the first two games) into Blackwork.  To date, this hasn't panned out.

Lt Surge is Pokemon's answer to Guile from Street Fighter II.  He was the second leader I charted (also back in 2012), but for one reason or another, he didn't get stitched up until recently.

I finally got round to stitching him this year (he only took me about 10 days to finish)!

Have to say that I think this one is an improvement on Erika!

He's worked on antique white 28-hpi evenweave using Anchor threads - the metallics are Coates Reflecta shades 300 (gold) and 301 (silver).

I'm currently working on the next Gym Leader, which is "half-charted", although I'm not going to say who it is as I don't want you to get your hopes up of seeing it finished any time soon :D

So that's all I have for now!

Till next time … keep Kalm and cross stitch :) xxx

+SHOW 'N TELL+ PROJECT HO-OH

Waaaaay back in 2011, long term followers will know that I uploaded a project called "Project Lugia"

Lugia is my favourite Pokemon, but I wasn't going to forget that other Gold/Silver Legendary - Ho-oh!

I charted Ho-oh at the same time as Lugia, but for one reason or another, I didn't start stitching it until much recently!

I finally finished it late last year … and here he is in all his glory!

He's worked on 14-HPI marble aida using Anchor threads and DMC Light Effects to add a little bit of sparkle to his wings and the background (the photo doesn't do it justice).

That's all for now - back to the patterns tomoz! :) x

+SHOW 'N TELL+ SELECT YOUR FIGHTER

Second post of the day!

I've just been uploading some new work to mt DeviantArt Galley an decided I ought to share on here as well!

First piece is this ...

This one is a bit it of a mash up between two of my favourite games - Final Fantasy VII and Streets of Rage!

The sprites for the FFVII characters are from an 8-bit version of the game that was released as a NES bootleg in China.  The sprites were lovingly charted by the ever fabby Missy Tannenbaum of DorkStitch fame.

You can get thee patterns HERE

The pattern for the FFVII Logo is mine - you can download it via BOX.net :) x

The project took me 3 attempts (yes, really) to get right, but is worked on 14-HPI aida and uses Anchor Threads, DMC Color Variations and DMC Light Effects!

Stay tuned as there is more to follow!!!!
