MEGA FEATURE -- It's Time To See What You Guys Have Been Doing!!!!

Greetings guys!!!

Well, I've been very tardy lately haven't I?  I can only apologise again for the huge gaps between posts.  As always, work and life get in the way.

Anyway, it's been quite a while since I last featured work that you guys had done so I thought it was time to rectify this!!!

First up, we have this super fabby blackwork Flygon:

This was stitched by Laura of WilyCrow Crafting. Laura has become a good friend recently having met through a local stitch group called Beartown Bobbins (we meet twice a month).  Laura is a bit of a gaming geek like me and likes Pokemon.  This was her first attempt at one of my creations -- I hope she will do more!

Next, we have two (yes TWO), Link In Stitches!

The first one was stitched by BossCandi and the second by RavenTeazea (the latter is actually made with perler beads)!!

Next up we have 2 designs by Missy-Tannenbaum:

Misy-Tannenbaum runs the spiffy blog Dorkstitch and her work is regularly featured on here :)

Another one of my regulars is DawnMLC:

Dawn runs another excellent geeky blog called AnimeStitching.

+FEATURED+ It's Time For You Guys To Shine!

Hello there guys, are we all enjoying our weekends?


It's time to feature your work again guys, and I've been sent some really impressive stitching recently.


First up is a very talented stitcher known as "Lil-Samuu" over on deviantART.  Her favourite Pokemon are Sentret and Furret, so I was really pleased when she decided to give my blackwork Furret a go:

I'm very impressed with the outcome of this, and I really hope she'll do more!


Next, comes blackwork Mewtwo, stitched by "crochetamommy" on deviantART:

She has changed the colour palette to great effect, which just goes to show that you don't need to use the palette that I have recommended (in fact, I like seeing the different coloured designs).  Again, a very nice job and I hope she'll also give some of my other patterns a go!


Finally, leaving the blackwork behind and moving onto the In Stitches series, we have this:

This was stitched by Leah Henning, who emailed this to me back in May (so apologies that I have taken so long to feature this!)  Unfortunately, Leah doesn't seem to have a deviantART account or blog (that I know of), so I can't recommend checking any other of her work out!


Leah, if you're reading this, can you clarify this for me?

++ FEATURED ++ It's Time For You To Shine!!!

Hey guys!!!

So this post is several days later than promised and I must apologies for my tardiness.  I have been really lazy this week, but I have been trying to get the next instalments for my In Stitches series finished because I really want to get back to my Pokemon Blackwork, and especially, some new projects I've just finished which I'm itching to start.

Anyway, I have some of your work to showcase, but first, I want to show you something my mum made recently:

My nephew is a huge fan of Phineas and Ferb and as it was his birthday last month, my mum wanted to stitch him something.  My friend DawnMLC who writes the fabby blog AnimeStitching had made some Phineas and Ferb patterns for her website.  My mum (and my sister) liked the Perry the Platypus designs the best so stitched the one above.

She also framed it, and my nephew loved it!

I think it looks cool, so well done mumsie :) xx

Next up is this:

Those who've been following my blog for a while will know that I designed this logo to accompany the sprites I stitched for my mum at Christmas.  This funky logo was stitched by Miss-Tannenbaum of Dork Stitch fame who had asked me if I would post the logo.  She stitched this with variegated thread for her sister, so I hope she liked it because it's turned out really well!!!

Next up are some fabby Mario Kart sprites:

The lady who stitched these emailed me a year ago, so I must apologise that I haven't featured them sooner. As those who've been following me know, last year was tough, especially after my dad passed away.  The lady who stitched these is called Melodee and here blog is HERE.  Melodee stated in her email that she was going to use this as part of a quilt, so if you're reading this Melodee, I'd like to see whether you made any more characters and if you finished the quilt -- I promise that I'll give it another mention (and I won't take so long to reply next time)!!!

Finally, we have another Mario Kart Sprite:

This was stitched by Kamryn Covey.  I don't know whether she has a blog or not because she didn't sate so in her email.  She also hinted that she's not a fan of Princess Peach, but the sprite was cute so she stitched it!  She hinted she was going to stitch more, so Kamryn, if you're also reading this, send me a note!!!

Next week I have busy one, so I'll probably be away from the laptop for the most of it.  Vivi is almost finished and if I can get him done in the next few days, I might be able to post the pattern!

+FEATURED+ Please Let Me See Your Work!!!

One of the good things about hosting my patterns via BOX.net is that I get an email from them every time one of my patterns is downloaded.  It lets me see just what you guys like.  The popular patterns are; Zelda, Mario, In Stitches and Pokemon Blackwork.

It's quite disappointing then that I'm not seeing much work from you guys.  I know you download them, and you even mention finishing them, but I want to see them so that I can feature them on here!

Missy-Tannenbaum of Dork Stitch fame, stitches my stuff quite regularly and recently, she did this:

It's the first Pokemon Blackwork design I've seen someone stitch, and even I have to admit that this looks so much more fabby than the black/gold version I designed!  The variegated thread looks uber cool :)

Another follower worth mentioning is Dawn of Anime-Stitching, who recently stitched some of my Zelda sprites:

Website Updates ... New "In Stitches" ... Featured Work!!!

Greetings guys, hope you're all enjoying the start to your weekend!

Well Zelda Month is over and it's time to move onto another project, but before then, there are a few more Zelda related things to conclude!!

First, ALL the patterns I've featured on here (as well as a few more) are now on my website for you to download and stitch yourselves!  You can download them direct from here.

Next, I managed to finish the next character in my "In Stitches" series, and in keeping with last month's Zelda theme, guess who it is ...

Da-na-na-naaaaa!!!  Yay, it's Link!!!

I decided some time ago that my In Stitches series wasn't going to be just characters from FFVII -- afterall, I like other video games too and the talented White-Materia had plenty of chibi's to chose from.  I really liked the Link sprite which is why I stitched it.  It actually took me a while to get this one right, in fact I started charting it before my illness kicked in and then had to abandon it because it just wasn't happening!  Eventually, I managed to choose colours I was happy with, and despite a few last minute tweaks, here is the finished product -- which I think is pretty cool!

There will be more non-FFVII characters in the series -- I plan to stitch Vivi from FFIX next, but that probably won't be until next month!

Finally, it's time to feature some of your spiffy stitching!  I really like seeing what you guys do with my patterns and this fine piece caught my eye the other day on deviantART:

This funky chibi Reno was stitched by Zaraphena for a friend of her's.  I think she's done a great job here and it's nice to see someone stitching characters other than Cloud or Zack!  Be sure to check out Zaraphena's deviantART page!  With her permission, I've also added this to the Gatchastitch Public Gallery on my facebook page!

I Found A Cloud Floating In The Archives

Yesterday, I found myself, for reasons that escape me, reading through all my previous blog entries and the comments people have left.  Sad, I know.  

My second bloggiversary is coming up in June and last year I almost forgot, so I decided to go back to my very first post to see when the actual date was.  I started reading that very first post, and before I knew it I was looking back through them all.

It's interesting to see how my blog has changed over the last two years -- the fonts and styles have changed, and a few images have disappeared although that may be my fault for messing around in my Picassa account and perhaps deleting stuff I shouldn't!

Whilst I was mooching, I came across a post from last May and a comment someone had left, providing a link to a picture she had taken of Cloud in Stitches.  As you know, I like to feature people who've stitched my patterns so I dunno how this got overlooked.

Anyway, to say sorry to violetrose17 for failing to feature her work, here is the aforementioned Cloud in Stitches:

I have to say that I am seriously impressed with this, and she's also framed it -- which is more than I have done with mine ^___^

+FEATURED+ There is talent out there ... if you know where to look!

Well it's April the First, and now it's too late for any April Fools jokes, but that aside, can you belive it's April already -- where has this year gone?

Anyway, it's time for another 'featured' although I fear at the moment, only two of my followers are actually stitching my patterns.  I'm sure there are more of you stitching them, but you all seem a bit shy!  Come on guys, I really wanna see what you're stitching so I can give you a mention!

First up, is Missy-Tannenbaum of Dork Stitch fame, who has stitched one of my Alex Kidd Sprites:

It's a bit psychedelic, but it looks fabby, and she's hinted that she will be doing more so I can't wait to see those!

+FEATURED+ FFVII Logo

Just a quick post for today because this couldn't wait!

I read all the blogs I fave everyday, sometimes there isn't anything new to read for a few days, but when there is, seeing new patterns and reading your stitchy news always makes me smile. 

This morning I was reading the blog of my dear friend Topcho who's fabby blog Bla. Bla? Bla! has seen quite a lot of activity over the past few weeks.  Recently she has been busy stitching the Phantasy Star themed sprites from another spiffy blog - Dork Stitch!

Another character has today been morphed spectacularly in cross-stitch, along with a sprite I hadn't expected to see -  my own FFVII Logo!!!

It's always nice to see other people stitching your designs and this is no exception as it looks super cool and it deserves a BIG mention here!

I'd like to see more of you stitching my designs.  I know a lot of them aren't quite small enough to finish in an evening, but that doesn't matter as long as you do them justice - remember, they will get a feature on here!

So that's all for now.  Now, I'm off to work on my Assassin's Creed logo which sadly, thanks to a major miscount, requires a lot of unpicking!!! *cries*

The First Cloud on deviantART

Well I know how much you guys like my In Stitches characters and the charts have proved to be very popular as I get lots of requests for them.

Last week I was checking the gallery of someone who had recently added me to their watch list over on deviantART when I noticed that this particular person had downloaded the chart for Cloud from Little Mojo’s site and stitched it!

It’s the first time I’ve come across one of my In Stitches designs in somebody else’s gallery so big kudos to him for posting it. I think that it looks fabulous, although I think the DMC colours look a little odd.

What do you guys think?
