WIP WEDNESDAY!

Greetings guys!

I hope you are all well?

So I started this over on my Instagram last week, and (providing I have things to show off), I want to make it a weekly thing.

This week I’m showing off a project I’ve just started working on, although I designed it last year.  It isn’t gaming related, but it is related to something I’m very passionate about: Recycling!

I’ve become a bit of an eco-warrior in recent years and last year I became a Waste Reduction Volunteer for my local council.  Due to Covid-19, I have not had a chance to do much volunteering, which has been hard, but I still try to do what I can, which is why I designed this piece.

As always, all my designs start as drawings and then get charted onto graph paper before being transferred into my charting software.

Aside from that, here are some of the other projects I have been working on lately:

Whilst I’m here…

This month’s newsletter is going out to subscribers later today!

If you haven’t signed up yet, and would like to do so, just PM me your email address and I’ll add you.

So that’s all I have for now.

Till next time … keep Kalm and cross-stitch!

JOHTO BOUND

Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to Johto we go!

Howdo guys, I hope you’re all keeping well in theses uncertain and scary times were living in right now.

How is everyone managing to keep themselves occupied?

I’ve been spurred over the last week to work on some new patterns, and I’m building up quite a stash!  I managed to put in an online order for materials the other week which has helped, but I might still need more – I shall have to look at my finances over the weekend and see what I can afford.

So anyway, back to the charting…

I think for now, I’m done charting Kanto critters, although if there’s a particular beastie you want me to chart, that I haven’t done already, just ask and I’ll add it to my list.

Now it’s time for me to turn my attention to the Pokemon of the Johto region.  Gold/Silver remain my favourite games in the series, and some of it’s Pokemon are really cool.

So, as I did with the Kanto critters, I’d like to you tell me which Pokemon from the Johto region you would like me to chart.  The same rules as before apply – no starters or legendaries.

Oh, and before you ask, no Unowns either – I’ve already charted these guys and I’ll be releasing the whole alphabet as a set later on!

So let’s have your requests guys … I’m looking forward to the stitchy challenge!

Till next time, keep Kalm and cross-stitch,

Most of all ... STAY SAFE!!!

KEEP KALM AND CROSS STITCH

Hey there guys

So the UK is about to go into full lock-down over Covid-19.  Never has there been a more worrying time than there is right now.  Our lives are effectively on hold for the foreseeable future, it is very scary!

As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, the daily barrage of news, advice etc on TV and social media has become extremely overwhelming for me to handle, and it may well be that I have to take a step back to protect my mental well being.

Self-isolation doesn’t bother me because I suffer from social anxiety, and I don't work, but my partner does work, and I know that being stuck together in our flat for 14 days would drive us both bonkers!  Fortunately, I have my crafting so hopefully that will keep me sane.

We both have parents over 70 so that is a worry too.  As of this weekend, the UK Government says that over 70’s must stay at home regardless of any underlying medical issues – this could be for up to three months, although no specific time limit has been set.

Panic buying has got out of hand, in our local Morrisons this morning, they had no toilet paper, soap, hand wash, paracetamol, pasta, tinned beans and bread … it is truly bonkers!!!

Local businesses have already shut up shop, but some are offering delivery services to those in need, which I think is a great idea.

I am sure we WILL all get through this, but in these uncertain times, remember to be kind to people and look after the people you love!

STAY SAFE!

Regards
Cazzy

PATTERNS FOR SALE

Howdo guys!

So personal issues have meant that I haven’t been able to start my Etsy store when I would have liked to, but that clearly hasn’t stopped you guys from emailing me to enquire about purchasing patterns anyway.

Following on from the trial I ran back in July last year, I’ve decided to offer up patterns for sale again via here until I’m ready to get going with my Etsy store, which I’m hoping will be sometime during the Spring!

A list of the patterns on sale are can be viewed by clicking on the “shop” tab above.

These are the patterns that I plan to launch my Etsy shop with.  Other designs you may have seen me working on over on my other social media platforms will be available at a later date.

If you’re interested, please email me for more information, prices etc…

Till next time … keep Kalm and cross-stitch! :) X

UFP JANUARY ... 2020

WOW, two posts in one day!!!

So as with previous years, January is usually the month that I work on all the outstanding UFP’s in my work basket.

I updated my list this year, and the majority of outstanding projects are crochet ones!  We’ll get to them in a minute, but my first finish of 2020 was actually this:

It seems to have taken forever to finish this one, the fill pattern is quite slow to work up.

The next finish I had was this:

This design was recommended by you guys so I hope I’ve done him justice!  Next on the rota is Abra, but I’ll probably not start that one now until next month.

Now onto the crochet…

I have projects in my work basket going back to 2013, which is not that old, considering how long I’ve been working on the “Gettysberg” project, but I was keen to get them done … so, here they are!

I have quite a few other projects that are ready to sew up, or don’t need much crocheting doing to them, and hopefully I can get them all (or some) finished before the end of this month.  If not, I’ll work on them as and when I get time!

Till next time … keep Kalm and cross-stitch!
