Stanley Baby Sampler

Well it's been another mad week here at Gatchastitch HQ, but thankfully the weekend is almost upon us and that means plenty of chillaxing with the stitching!!!

Tifa is almost finished and with any luck, I'll have pattern posted soon :)

Going off the track here a bit, I can't remember whether I mentioned the latest arrival to the Stanley clan.  Back in January, my fiance's aunty Isabel became a great-grandmother for the first time.  The new arrival was Katherine Louise Stanley who was born on the 20th January 2012 weighing a nice 6lbs 10ozs :)

Knowing that I'm crafty, Isabel asked me if I could make a baby sampler!  I said yes, although I have to confess that I've never been asked to do this sort of thing before, and believe it or not, trying to get inspired was harder than I thought.

It took me a long time trawling through the internet before I managed to get ideas together!

Eventually, I designed this draft:

The finished design will be worked in various variegated shades and I've used blackwork fills along the bottom.  The bear is also worked in blackwork.

I started stitching this back in April, but with things being so hectic of late, getting to work on it has been difficult.  I'm hoping that I can get some more done over the weekend (between other projects), but here's what I've worked so far:

I'll try and post another progress report soon!

Till next time, keep Kalm and cross-stitch!!!
